Learn Hawaiian

learn-hawaiian-tapaLa'ela'e studied Hawaiian language under Prof. Pualani Hopkins (University of Hawai'i) from 1988 to 1990 and under Kumu Hau'oli Akaka (OHA) for another two years.  Other language teachers and advisers included Kupuna Lydia Hale and Aunty Malia Craver.  As part of her studies, La'ela'e demonstrated how to build a Hawaiian Knee Drum (Puniu).  La'ela'e teaches 'Olelo Hawai'i (Hawaiian language) to both children and adults.  Children's lessons include songs, stories, art and games.
We currently have ongoing beginning and intermediate Hawaiian-language classes.  New students are welcome to join at any time.
In addition, we are specialized in preparing residents of Colorado for their upcoming moves to Hawai'i.
For Hawaiian language classes, please, see the schedule under "Hula Classes".  Or, for more information, please contact La'ela'e at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
